Customized Insulation Strategies for Türkiye: Life Cycle Cost Analysis and Impact on Business Competitiveness

A significant portion of energy consumption in buildings is allocated to heating, with substantial losses resulting from inadequate insulation, poor sealing, and thermal bridging. While proper insulation plays a crucial role in mitigating these losses, determin- ing its optimal thickness is essential to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency. This study employs life cycle cost analysis and average heating degree day values to calculate the optimum insulation thickness for 81 provinces in Türkiye. The findings highlight the absence of a one-fits-all insulation solution, emphasizing the need for customized approaches tailored to specific conditions that consider specific factors, such as environmental conditions, heating sources, costs, economic parameters and the materials used. Proper insulation application is projected to reduce carbon emissions by 90% and lower annual heating costs by approximately 65%. These energy efficiency improvements are particularly significant for both households and businesses, enhancing profitability and competitiveness. Capturing the Experience: How Digital Media Affects Memory Retention in Museum Education

This study investigates the effects of digital media usage, specifically photo-taking and video recording, on memory retention in the context of museum education. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, this research involved three groups, each exposed to different conditions: observation without media use, photo-taking, and video recording. A total of 120 university students who participated in the study were divided randomly into groups balanced by working memory capacity. Immediate and delayed recall tests were conducted to assess short-term memory and long-term retention. The results reveal that participants who merely observed the objects exhibited considerably better memory performance compared to those who used digital media. This result is consistent with the cognitive offloading hypothesis and suggests that digital devices weaken memory encoding processes by reducing individuals’ internal cognitive resources. The video-recording group exhibited the lowest performance due to the need for sustained attention and increased cognitive load. The photographing group, despite performing lower in the short-term memory test, showed less decline in the long-term memory test than the other groups. Exploring the Relation: Does Forgiveness Enhance Interpersonal Problem Solving?

This study explores the relationship between forgiveness and interpersonal problem-solving skills among university students using a correlational design. The sample includes 443 students aged 18–26 from Mersin and Selçuk Universities, selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Heartland Forgiveness Scale, the Interpersonal Problem-Solving Inventory, and a personal information form. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted. Results indicate significant relationships between forgiveness and problem-solving skills. Forgiveness positively predicts constructive problem-solving (r = 0.45, p < 0.01) and negatively correlates with negative approaches to problems (r = −0.37, p < 0.01), lack of self-confidence (r = −0.29, p < 0.01), and unwillingness to take responsibility (r = −0.31, p < 0.01). Forgiveness explains 25.2% of the variance in negative approaches, 8% in constructive problem-solving, 13.4% in self-confidence, and 10.3% in responsibility avoidance. Self-forgiveness, forgiveness of others, and situational forgiveness are significant predictors across these dimensions. A Step towards Sustainable Education: Does an Entrepreneurial Teacher Nurture Creativity?

This study explores the relationship between teachers’ entrepreneurial behaviors and their creativity-nurturing behaviors, with a particular emphasis on sustainability in education. While previous studies have typically examined entrepreneurship and creativity as separate concepts, often focusing on their individual dimensions, this study underscores the significance of integrating entrepreneurial and creative competencies to promote sustainable educational practices. By highlighting how teachers’ entrepreneurial and creative skills contribute to sustainable education, this study addresses the broader impact these competencies have on meeting the evolving needs and expectations of students, families, and society. This approach supports the development of a more resilient and adaptive education system that can thrive over time. The research involved 1396 classroom teachers from the Mersin province of Turkey. Examination of Secondary School Turkish Lesson Textbooks in Terms of Traditional Children’s Games

In this research in qualitative model, it is aimed to examine the secondary school Turkish textbooks prepared within the framework of the Turkish Lesson Curriculum, which was renewed in 2017 and is still in force with various updates, in terms of including traditional children's games. In this context, secondary school Turkish textbooks published by the Ministry of National Education, which have been decided to be taught by the Board of Education since the 2017-2018 academic year, are the study objects of the research. The textbooks mentioned within the scope of the document analysis method were subjected to descriptive analysis separately by three different field experts in terms of including traditional children's games. Since the preferences in determining the contents of traditional children's games are subjective, Miles and Huberman's (2016) reliability formula was used in order to ensure unity among the three researchers and to increase the coding reliability, and the reliability of the research was found to be 0.87 at the end of the calculation. MEDYA OKURYAZARLIĞI EĞİTİMİ

Medya okuryazarlığı ve bunun eğitimi, iletişim sürecinden ayrı düşünülemeyen kavramlardır. Kaynak tarafından çeşitli kodlama sistemleri aracılığıyla somutlaştırılan mesajın uygun araç ve kanallarla alıcıya aktarılması ve alıcının geri bildirimde bulunması biçiminde özetlenebilecek iletişim, 21. yüzyılda, bilişim teknolojilerinde yaşanan hızlı gelişimle birlikte ele alındığı zaman medya okuryazarlığı eğitimi açısından önemli yerini daha da belirginleştirmektedir. Sadece işitme kanalına hitap eden radyoyla başlayan; işitme ve görme kanalları yanında dokunma ve hatta koku kanallarına bile hitap edebilen, karmaşık araçlarla medya artık hayatımızın vazgeçilmez bir unsuru durumuna gelmiştir. Elbette gelişen teknolojik araçların etkisiyle bireylerin gün içinde maruz kaldığı veri miktarı da artmaktadır. Bu durum, adeta mesaj bombardımanı altındaki bireylerin bunları etkili ve hızlı ayırt edip anlamlandırmasını gerekli kılmaktadır.
