A Faunistic Study of Diurnal and Nocturnal Lepidoptera in Darbo˘gaz, Bolkar Mountains (Ni˘gde, Turkey)

In this study, the fauna of diurnal and nocturnal Lepidoptera from the Darbo˘gaz, Bolkar Mountains in Ulukıs¸la, Ni˘gde province in the south of the Anatolian region of Turkey has been investigated. Field studies were carried out during the years 2008 and 2009. Specimens of butterflies and moths were collected from nine localities for this study. These specimens belong to 63 diurnal and 105 nocturnal species distributed in 15 families. The First Record of Two Moths (Lepidoptera) in Hatay Province of Turkey and External and Genital Morphology of the Species

This study was conducted in field and laboratory. Nemophora fascielle (Fabricius, 1775) (Adelidae) and Endothenia sororiana (Herrich-Schaffer, 1851) (Tortricidae) were caught with insect net, mercury vapour light trap and white screen, at different altitudes, with various vegetation in Hatay. In the field studies, N. fascielle totally 3 male and 2 female, and E. sororiana totally 5 male and 1 female were collected. Specimens were dissected in the laboratory and prepared male genitalia and wings slides. We described the external and male genital morphology of N. fascielle and E. sororiana in detail and also diagnostical morphological features. A Faunistic Study of Papilionoidea (Lepidoptera) of the Western Taurus Mountains, Turkey

In this study, the fauna of Papilionoidea (Lepidoptera) (sensu vanNieukerken et al., 2011) in West Taurus (Southern Turkey) has been investigated. Field studies were carried out during the years 2004–2009. Specimens of butterflies were collected from 43 different localities for this study. These specimens belong to 125 species distributed in 5 families. The distribution of species (by families) was given as: Papilionidae (5); Pieridae (14); Nymphalidae (45); Lycaenidae (44) and Hesperiidae (17). A review of the relevant literature revealed that 92 of 125 species determined in this study are newly recorded for the Lepidoptera fauna of Anamur and all of them are new for the study area.

Faunistic Study on Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea (Lepidoptera) of Göksu Valley in Mut, Southern Turkey

In this study, the fauna of Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea (Lepidoptera) from Göksu Valley, Mut district, in the Mediterranean region of Southern Turkey were investigated. Field collections were conducted between April and August from 2007–2009. Individuals were collected from 58 field surveys. The specimens belonged to 131 species in five families, including Papilionidae (6 species), Pieridae (16), Nymphalidae (42), Lycaenidae (53), and Hesperiidae (14). Fifty-nine of the 131 species were new records for the Lepidoptera fauna of Mut.

Merkezi Elburz Dağlarının Papilionoidea ve Hesperioidea Faunası ve Taksonomisi Üzerine Araştırmalar (Lepidoptera).

Bu tez çalışması İran Merkezi Elburz Dağlarında gerçekleşmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda kelebeklere (Lepidoptera) ait 8 familya içinde 178 tür tespit edilmiştir. 133 taxon örnek toplanarak tespit edilmiştir. 47 taxon ise literatür kayıtlarına göre verilmiştir. İran faunası için Polyommatus admetus yeni bir tür olarak verilmiştir. Ayrıca birçok tür çalışma alanı için yeni kayıttır. Zoocoğrafik açıdan 46 taxa Elburz dağları için endemik olarak tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada iran2da şimdiye kadar olan bilimsel çalışmalar kronolojik olarak verilmiştir (Lederer 1869 ile Hosseinpour 1996 yılları arasında).

Bu çalışma, Osmaniye ilinde arazi ve laboratuvar çalışmaları şeklinde yürütülmüştür. Nocuidae familyasına ait Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner, [1808]), Chrysodeixis chalcites (Esper, [1789]) ve Sphingidae familyasına ait Daphnis nerii, Osmaniye’de değişik bitki örtüsüne sahip çeşitli yüksekliklerdeki lokalitelerden cıva buharlı ışık tuzağı ve beyaz perde ile yakalandı. Helicoverpa armigera’dan toplam 3 erkek, 3 dişi, Chrysodeixis chalcites’den toplam 5 erkek ve Daphnis nerii’den bir erkek ve bir dişi toplanmıştır. Örnekler laboratuvarda preparat yapımı için hazırlandı, erkek-dişi genital ve kanat preparatları yapıldı. Faunistic Study of the Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea (Lepidoptera) from the Amanos Mountains in İslahiye, Turkey

A Faunistic Study on Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea (Lepidoptera) of Murat Mountain in Banaz, UŞAK Province, Turkey

This study was carried out in Murat Mountain located in Banaz district (Uşak, Western Turkey), during 2000-2009 in order to collect data on Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea species, their distribution and current status. Butterflies (756) were caught with sweep nets from 28 localities during the field work of which 113 species and subspecies belonging to 7 families and 2 superfamilies were identified; 87 species were identified for the first time for Lepidoptera fauna of Uşak province and 103 species were identified for the first time for Murat Mountain (Banaz) fauna.
