The Impact of Moral Sensitivities and Professional Values of Nursing Students on Care Perception

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of nursing students' perceptions of moral sensitivities and the care given by professional values towards the nursing profession. Methods: Research was approved by Mersin University Clinical Research Ethics Committee and planned as a descriptive study. It was conducted between 1 May and 30 June 2017 with 195 students graduating in the third and fourth grades of the School of Health Nursing Department of a public university. Bu çalışmanın amacı, KKTC Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’ne başvuran hastalar arasında diş gelişim bozukluklarının yaygınlığını radyografik olarak incelemektir. Bu popülasyon için bu konuda daha önce kaydedilmiş diş hekimliğine dair herhangi bir kayıt veya epidemiyolojik veri bulunmamaktadır. Ocak 2007 ile Şubat 2010 tarihleri arasında yaşları 16-82 arasında değişen 4672 hastanın panoramik radyograflarının incelenmesi üzerine kurulu retrospektif bir çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Different Presentations of Patients with Transcobalamin II Deficiency: A Single-Center Experience from Turkey

Objective: Transcobalamin II deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive disease characterized by decreased cobalamin availability, which in turn causes accumulation of homocysteine and methylmalonic acid. The presenting clinical features are failure to thrive, diarrhea, megaloblastic anemia, pancytopenia, neurologic abnormalities, and also recurrent infections due to immune abnormalities in early infancy. Patients with complete XY gonadal dysgenesis (GD) show a high predisposition to germ cell tumors (GCT). Patients with coexistence of GCT and GD have been reported previously. Here we present a 15-year-old girl with mixed GCT and GD who also developed an intra-abdominal synovial sarcoma one year after the treatment. This is the first report, to our knowledge, of synovial sarcoma associated with XY GD.

Effects of Staining Beverages and Office Bleaching Agents on the Optical Characteristics and Surface Topography of Maxillary Incisor Teeth

BACKGROUND/AIMS: The aim of this study was to evaluate the staining abilities of different beverages, the efficacy of two office bleaching agents and the effect of bleaching on the surface topography of maxillary incisors. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Sixty crowns of maxillary incisors were obtained and immersed in distilled water for 24 hours. After baseline color measurements were made, the specimens were divided into three groups according to three immersion solutions [Turkish coffee (TC), red wine (RW), and distilled water (DW)].
