Enhancement of taxane production in cell suspension culture of Corylus avellana L. Kalınkara by elicitation and precursor feeding

Paclitaxel (trademark Taxol®) is the most effective chemotherapeutic agent against a wide range of cancers. Hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.) cell culture is a promising and inexpensive strategy for producing paclitaxel and related taxanes. This study evaluated the effect of elicitation and taxane precursor feeding for the enhancement of taxanes in a Turkish hazelnut (C. avellana cv. ‘Kalınkara’) cell suspension culture. Elicitor methyl jasmonate (100, 200 and 300 µmol L−1) and precursor phenylalanine (3μmol, 3 and 6 mmol L−1) were tested in cell suspension cultures. Türk Fındık Çeşitlerinde Antikanser Taksanların Biyoteknolojik Üretimi için Optimize Edilmiş Model Hücre Kültür Sistemi

Paklitaksel çeşitli kanser hastalıklarının tedavisinde yaygın olarak kullanılan bir diterpenoiddir. Fındık (Corylus avellana L.) hücre süspansiyon kültürleri, paklitakselin (PTX) yanı sıra, çeşitli kanserlerde etkinliği yakın zamanda gösterilen sefalomannin (CEPH) ve bu taksanların yarı sentezinde kullanılan öncüller olan 10-deasetil bakkatin III (10DAB) ve bakkatin III (BACIII) gibi önemli taksanların üretimi için uygun sistemlerdir. Biyoteknolojik yolla taksan üretimi için antikanser sekonder metabolitlerin üretiminin artırılması gerekmektedir. Türk fındık çeşitlerinden Kalınkara hücre süspansiyon kültürlerinde biyokütlenin ve hücre dışına salgılanan taksanların üretiminin artırılması için elisitasyon koşulları ilk kez belirlenmiştir.

Determination of the effect of silica nanoparticles on TRP currents in retinal pigment epithelial cells by entropy measurement

Ion channels in cell membranes are gated, water-filled pores that allow passive transport of ions across the membrane along their electrochemical gradient. Recent studies have shown that nanoparticles can interact with ion channels and change their currents kinetics properties of the channel. In this study, we used the transient receptor potential (TRP) channel currents in retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells recorded by whole-cell patch clamp technique to observe the silica nanoparticle-ion channel interaction. Study and development of electrospun (TPU, PA-6) / silicone bilayer membranes for congenital diaphragmatic hernia repair

Large defects in the congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) are treated by prosthetic materials, most frequently polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), with high complications. The purpose of this study is to develop a novel electrospun double-faced prosthesis that will minimize these surgical complications. Polyamide 6 (PA-6) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) nanofibers were prepared by solution electrospinning, and room temperature vulcanized silicone (RTV) was used in electrospinning by dip-coating to develop a double-faced membrane. The Roots of the Soviet-Syrian Alliance: A Neo-Gramscian Perspective

The Soviet and Baath regimes enjoyed a consensual relationship between the 1940s and the 1980s. The nature of this relationship was shaped both by the need for an alliance in a period of Cold War bipolarity and by shared common ideological worldviews such as anti-imperialism and socialism. These relations were not free from pragmatism to a certain extent, as the degree of commitment to socialism and Pan-Arabism within the Baath Party sometimes fluctuated. Individuals have made extensive use of the Internet and new media technologies to obtain information and news quickly and reliably during the pandemic process. The subject of this study is how individuals can obtain information after COVID-19, and how they are affected by the Internet. For this reason, survey-based research is conducted both in Turkey and Ukraine in this study.
