Discontinuity set extraction from 3D point clouds obtained by UAV Photogrammetry in a rockfall site

Rockfall event is common on rocky terrain, and it threatens people. Recent advances in remote sensing technologies allow us to model the terrain with high accuracy and resolution. In this study, we show the application of modeling a rockfall site in three-dimensional (3D) using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The acquisition of information about discontinuities in the rock masses using 3D point clouds is vital to characterize rockfall dynamics. We obtained 3D spatial information and point clouds of a rocky slope from acquired images. We extracted 10 discontinuity sets from the 3D model as they have significant effects on the failure mechanism. The effect of different flight heights on generated digital products: DSM and Orthophoto

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) allows you to create digital surface models (DSM) and orthophotos of an area in a short time by photogrammetric methods. In the last decade, UAV and Global Positioning System (GPS) have been used to create real, reliable and high-resolution maps. In this study, the effect of flight height on DSM and orthophoto was investigated. Two flight plans at a height of 30 to 50 meters were prepared. Images taken with UAV were used to produce DSM and orthophoto. Resolution of maps were compared when models were produced. Compared to a flight height of 50 meters, a more detailed and high-resolution model was created with 30 meters. The combination of geological, topographical and climatic conditions causes mass movements. Rockfall, which is a frequently seen disaster at mountainous regions, gives damage to residential areas and transportation corridors. Rockfall barriers are being designed to capture falling rocks worldwide. Türkiye, sahip olduğu jeomorfolojik yapısından dolayı sıklıkla can ve mal kaybına yol açan doğal afetlere maruz kalmaktadır. Son yıllarda afetlerle mücadele için hazırlanan mühendislik projelerinde fotogrametrik yöntemler sıklıkla kullanılmaya başlamıştır. Teknolojik gelişmeler afete maruz bölgelerin modellenmesinde bize büyük kolaylıklar sağlamaktadır. Apriori association rule and K-means clustering algorithms for interpretation of pre-event landslide areas and landslide inventory mapping

In this paper, an inventory of the landslide that occurred in Karahacılı at the end of 2019 was created and the pre-landslide conditions of the region were evaluated with traditional statistical and spatial data mining methods. The current orthophoto of the region was created by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). In this way, the landslide areas in the region were easily determined. According to this, it was determined that the areas affected by the landslides had an average slide of 26.56 m horizontally. The relationships among the topographic, hydrographic, and vegetative factors of the region were revealed using the Apriori algorithm. Mersin’ de bulunan Kanlıdivane Ören yeri, içerisinde Antik dönemde yapılmış olan pek çok kilise, yağ üretim yeri ve mezar bulundurmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Olba İmparatorluğu’ nun önemli bir kenti olan Kanlıdivane Ören Yeri’ nde bulunan bir Anıtmezar’ ın yersel lazer tarayıcı (YLT) kullanarak 3B modeli çıkartılmaya çalışılmıştır. Wearable mobile laser scanner (WMLS) system is a technique based on simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm. This technique enables the creation of a map of an unknown environment bypassing with distance sensors while simultaneously determining the system located on the map. Due to the rapid progress in measurement technology, a heron WMLS has been used in the detection of underground lines. The point cloud of the roads was obtained with the laser scanner.
