Friction composites consist of many materials with various properties. Solid lubricant is one of these materials. The task of the solid lubricant in the compo-site is to protect the counter surfaces against wear and to reduce noise and vibra-tion. Typical solid lubricants used in the friction composite are graphite, antimo-ny trisulfide, molybdenum disulfide, copper sulfide, etc. The selection suitable solid lubricants for better braking performance is an important issue, as solid lubricants may decompose at high temperatures, leading to undesirable results. Lipoma in the Bladder Mucosa with MRI Supported: Case Report

Abstract Lipomas are typically encapsulated benign tumors found in the skin, central nervous system, or gastrointestinal system. Lipomas of the bladder wall are rare tumors with limited reported cases. We present a case of a 62-year-old male patient who presented to our outpatient clinic with complaints of hematospermia. During two pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans conducted ten months apart and a diagnostic cystourethroscopy, a 7 mm lesion was incidentally found on the dome of the bladder and was resected for further examination. Follow-up MRI revealed that the size of the lesion remained unchanged. In spite of their rarity, bladder wall lipomas should be considered in the differential diagnosis of bladder tumors.  Keywords: bladder lipoma, hematospermia, tumor

Metrik fotoğraf makinelerinin ve fotogrametrik kamera lenslerinin satın alma maliyetleri oldukça yüksektir. Bunun aksine akıllı telefonlar, kullanıcılar tarafından kolay ulaşılabilir ve uygun maliyetli bir veri toplama imkânı sağlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda akıllı telefonlar, fotogrametriyle bütünleştirildiğinde 3B modelleme süreçlerine esneklik sağlamakta, düşük maliyetli bir çözüm sunmaktadır. Modeling and Predicting of Tribological Behaviour of the Automotive Brake Pad Using Response Surface Methodology

In the present study, wear and frictional behaviours of automotive brake pad sliding against GG 20 cast iron counter face have been investigated experimentally using a pin on disc type friction tester. Wear tests were carried out under dry conditions. A central composite design was used to describe response and to estimate the process parameters in the model. Empirical models have been developed to predict wear loss and friction coefficient as a function of contact pressure and sliding velocity using multiple regression. The statistical analysis show that the contact pressure is identified as the most dominant factor affecting wear loss, sliding velocity is identified is the most dominant factor affecting friction coefficients.

Investigation of the Use of a New Binder Material in Automotive Brake Pad

In this study, the usability of waste banana peel and banana tree bark with a fibrous structure as binders was investigated experimentally. Ac-cordingly, the amount of fiber, friction regulator, filler, abrasive and sol-id lubricant is fixed, and three different brake pad samples were pro-duced by adding 10% banana peel and 10% banana tree bark powders by reducing the amount of phenolic resin. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'deki Mersin İli Tarsus İlçesindeki Tarihi Nusret Mayın Gemisi örnek alınarak yersel lazer tarama ve İHA fotogrametri nokta bulutu verilerinin karşılaştırılması ve entegrasyonu gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, yersel lazer tarayıcıdan elde edilen bir nokta bulutu ile İHA fotogrametriden elde edilen bir nokta bulutu arasındaki farkların değerlendirilmesidir. Ayrıca, biri geleneksel yaklaşımla diğeri yeni bir çakıştırma yaklaşımıyla üretilen iki bütünleşik nokta bulutunun doğrulukları araştırılmıştır. Hundreds of Ileal Condylitis Stones

Abstract CASE REPORT One of the long-term complications of urinary diversion, urolithiasis, is influenced by factors such as bacterial colonization, urinary stasis, mucus, and anatomical abnormalities. Stones are typically observed in the upper urinary tract, and they are rarely seen in the ileal conduit. Although endoscopic surgery can be used for the treatment of stones in the ileal conduit, it is predominantly treated with open surgery. We report a 28-year-old male patient with 282 urinary stones, the largest of which measures 8 cm, found in the ileal conduit. The case is evaluated in terms of treatment and surgical approaches.

Friction and Wear Behavior of Fiber Reinforced Polymer-Matrix Composites Containing Ulexite and Pinus Brutia Cone Dust

In this study, the usability of ulexite and pinus brutia cone dust (PBCD) in friction composites were investigated experimentally. Polymer-matrix composite (PMC) samples were manufactured by powder metallurgy method. Produced samples with the same contents were compared with those of heat-treated. A special design friction tester was used to determine friction properties such as wear rate and friction coefficient. The results showed that ulexite and PBCD can be used as filler material in friction composites. The results also indicated that heat treatment improved the properties of the samples.

2023 Kahramanmaraş ve Hatay depremlerinin Antakya ve Samandağ ilçelerindeki yapısal etkileri ve çözüm önerileri

06.02.2023 tarihinde Doğu Anadolu Fay Zonu (DAFZ) üzerinde yerel saat 04:17’de Mw: 7.7 büyüklüğünde ve yerel saat 13:24’de Mw: 7.6 büyüklüğünde olan Kahramanmaraş merkezli iki adet büyük şiddetli depremler meydana gelmiştir. Bu depremlerden sonra 20.02.2023 tarihinde Ölü Deniz Fayı üzerinde yerel saat 20:04’te Mw: 6.4 büyüklüğünde Hatay merkezli yıkıcı bir deprem daha meydana gelmiştir. Bu depremlerden en çok etkilenen bölgelerin başında Hatay ili gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada depremden sonra Hatay’ın Antakya ve Samandağ ilçelerinde bulunan yapılardaki hasarlar gözleme dayalı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Influence of Diesel Fuel and Soybean Oil Ethyl Ester Blends on the Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine

In this study, blends of soybean oil ethyl ester and diesel fuel are tested as alternative fuel in a single cylinder, air cooled pre-combustion chamber diesel engine at different speeds and their effects on engine performance and emissions are analyzed. It is observed that the average moment obtained by 5% soybean oil ethyl ester and diesel fuel blend (SOE5) is 0.53% lower, the level of power obtained is 1.8% lower; however, specific fuel consumption is approximately 4.31% higher than those of diesel fuel. In the experiments conducted with 20% soybean oil ethyl ester and diesel fuel blend (SOE20), it is observed that the average moment is 1.74% lower, the level of power obtained is 5.91% lower; however, specific fuel consumption is approximately 10.94% higher than those of diesel fuel. Investigation of Friction and Wear Behavior of Boron Carbide Reinforced Composite Materials

In this study, the usability of boron carbide as a reinforcement material in friction composites was investigated experimentally. Hence, composite samples containing different amounts of boron carbide (5%, 10% and 15%) were produced and compared with boron carbide-free sample. Friction and wear tests were determined by a full scale brake friction tester according to TS 555 and TS 9076 standards. The hardness of the samples was calculated by Rockwell hardness tester and the density was calculated according to Archimedes' principle. The results showed that boron carbide could be used as a reinforcement material in friction composites.

Braking pressure and sliding velocity can affect wear behavior of brake pad material, so sliding velocity and braking pressure is often regarded as the key factor in defining quality performance of this material. For this reason, Taguchi Method has been used to screen the variables that have significant effects on the wear rate. Furthermore, an integrated approach of Taguchi Method and Response Surface Methodology has been employed to improve an empirical model for predicting wear rate and optimization of control factors. It has been observed that an integrated approach based on Taguchi Method and Response Surface Methodology gives 15.45% lower wear rate as compared to optimal results obtained from Taguchi method.

INVESTIGATION OF ULEXITE USAGE IN AUTOMOTIVE BRAKE FRICTION MATERIALS
