Some Oxidation Reactions with Molecular Oxygen in Subcritical Water

In this study, some alkyl arenes such as fluorene and ethyl benzene have been oxidized to the corresponding carbonyl compounds. 1,4-Diol and cyclic ethers give lactones and lactams, which are converted into corresponding imides under these conditions.
