The aim of this research was to investigate spermatolojical charecteristics of stallion semen frozen with lactose and tris extenders. This experiment was done in the Anadolu State Farm and five Pure Arabian Stallions were used. Semen taken from five Arabian Stallions were extended in a way that to ensure 100x106 /cm3 motile spermatozoa by lactose and tris extenders and frozen in the macrotube in liquid nitrogen vapour. This study was conducted to compare Laiciphose W 488 and AndroMed extenders for maintaining sperm motility at 40C in bulls. In the study 40 ejaculates collected from 4 Holstein bulls were used. Ejaculates were divided into two groups and were diluted with Laiciphos W 488 and AndroMed. Diluted semen was cooled to +40C in 45 minutes. After that they were transferred into the refrigerator. Sperm motility was estimated daily up to day 10 post dilution. Immediately after dilution sperm motility rates were 83.37±0.37 % and 83.12±0.38 % for Laiciphos W 488 and AndroMed extenders, respectively. Sperm motility for the samples diluted with AndroMed on day 3 was above 50 % in all bulls studied. In this study, the ram ejaculates were frozen in liqued nitrogen vapour after extended with Tris and Hepes diluents that its including taurin. Frozen ram semen and native semen were compared in regarding pregnancy and parturition rates in ewes (three group each has 20 animals) which were inseminated by intrauterine laparoscopic technique. In the inseminated sheep with frozen Tris, Hepes extenders and native semen, pregnancy and parturition rates were determined 50, 50, 55 and 45, 50, 55 % respectively. As a result; no significant differences were determined statistically between pregnancy and parturition rates in sheep which were inseminated with Tris, Hepes extenders and native semen.

The project was conducted in Livestock Central Research Institute. In the experiment 9 head Holstein bulls were used as project material. Bulls were split into groups of three heads as one control (40 mg/kg) and 2 different levels of zinc groups (150 mg/kg, group 1; 200 mg/kg, group 2) randomly by drawing of lots. Bulls in the control group were fed with compound feed containing 40 mg/kg zinc and bulls in two other treatment groups were given additional 110 mg/kg (Group1) and 160 mg/kg (Group 2) zinc respectively. As zinc preparation in control and other two treatment groups, organic zinc compound, Bioplex Zinc (zinc chelate of amino acid hydrate by Alltech) was used. İneklerde süperovulasyon ve embriyo transferi çalışmaları

In this study, Superovulation and Embryo Transfer was applied under the institute circumstances and results were investigated after fresh embryo transfer into the recipients. 12 donors were superovulated and 22 embryo recovering were done. As a result of this study 75 ova and embryos which 20 (26.6%) good, 10 (13.3%) fair, 4(5.3%) poor quality, 25(33.3%) degenerated and 16 (21.3%) unfertilized ova were found. 7 (70%) pregnancy were provided from 10 fresh embryo transfered.

IFNτ acts on uterine epithelium to suppress transcription of the genes for estrogen receptor and oxytocin receptor. This blocks development of the uterine luteolytic mechanism. Maintenance of progesterone secretion by the corpus luteum ensures establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. Secretion of IFNτ on days 12-15 for sheep and days 14-17 for cows and goats is essential for pregnancy recognition.

In mammals, seminal plasma is a complex mixture of secretions from the epididymis and from the various accessory sex glands. The anatomy of accessory glands, as well as their chemical composition and the functions of their secretions are varied among species. In addition, the molecular composition of seminal fluid is very complex. Seminal plasma plays an important role in the fertilizing ability of sperm and the succes of the cryopreservation process. Proteins from seminal fluid have been implicated in the regulation of acrosome reaction, in the regulation of Ca+2 uptake by sperm and in the modulation of sperm capacitation. Seminal plasma protein composition varies from species to species but in all the cases investigated so far these components have important effects on sperm function.
