Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) allows you to create digital surface models (DSM) and orthophotos of an area in a short time by photogrammetric methods. In the last decade, UAV and Global Positioning System (GPS) have been used to create real, reliable and high-resolution maps. In this study, the effect of flight height on DSM and orthophoto was investigated. Two flight plans at a height of 30 to 50 meters were prepared. Images taken with UAV were used to produce DSM and orthophoto. Resolution of maps were compared when models were produced. Compared to a flight height of 50 meters, a more detailed and high-resolution model was created with 30 meters. Although the flight data from 30 meters gave better results, the flight process took longer. Also, more photos were taken and the file size to...

The combination of geological, topographical and climatic conditions causes mass movements. Rockfall, which is a frequently seen disaster at mountainous regions, gives damage to residential areas and transportation corridors. Rockfall barriers are being designed to capture falling rocks worldwide. The classical method applied in rockfall analysis is 3D modelling of the study area to determine rockfall trajectory with the help of Digital surface model (DSM). 3D rockfall simulation is performed in order to determine bounce height, maximum run-out distance and kinetic energy of rocks. DSM of the study area needs to be accurately determined to properly design barrier system. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can be used to prepare actual DSM from inaccessible areas. In this study, we prepared the ...

The rapid population growth in the world and the adverse effects of climate change, has caused a severe increase in water demand used in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and domestic usage. The fact that the water resources in the world are stable and their availability is limited, the importance of water resources, efficient use of water, and the use of technologies related to alternative water resources have become important. This study aimed to investigate the usage potential of rainwater to be collected from the roofs of the building in irrigation of green areas in Mersin University - Çiftlikköy campus. For this purpose, first, whether the roofs inside the campus can collect rainwater will be revealed with unmanned aerial vehicles. Then, appropriate roof areas where rainwater wil...
The preservation of documents, which are described as cultural heritage, can be accepted as the common duty of delivery to future generations of humanity. In documenting the cultural heritage, the current state of historical monuments must first be determined. For this, various techniques are used in the literature. Recently, Close-range photogrammetry documentation of cultural heritage, which develops rapidly in line with technological developments, has an important place in the study. Documentation of close-range photogrammetry cultural heritage, which has developed rapidly in parallel with technological developments, has an important place in the studies. In this study, the study of documenting the Gülük Mosque in Kayseri/TURKEY with a photogrammetry technique was carried out. In this s...

Technological developments have shown themselves in the field of engineering as in every field. Wearable mobile laser scanner (WMLS) system is a technique based on simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm. This technique enables the creation of a map of an unknown environment bypassing with distance sensors while simultaneously determining the system located on the map. Due to the rapid progress in measurement technology, a heron WMLS has been used in the detection of underground lines. The point cloud of the roads was obtained with the laser scanner. Sewerage, water, and natural gas pipelines were determined through the point cloud. These determinations were checked with a Global Positioning System (GPS) device. As a result of this study, maps of the existing infrastructure ...
Thousands of years of civilization and history, both by the people, with the people as well as nature, created and today as the so-called Cultural Heritage works, conservation and documentation of the event is an important event for all humanity. Metric, written and visual documentation; The cultural heritage and the determination of the current situation and problems, can be used as basic data protection in all kinds of work for the solution of these problems. In addition, the promotion of the cultural heritage passed on to future generations and society in an important way. showing a rapid development in today's technological development of digital terrestrial photogrammetry method it is also frequently used in these studies. In this study, the Tekgöz Bridge is located 30km north-we...
Aerial photos and satellite images tell us about the land surface. It provides a variety of information such as particularly human-built objects such as buildings, roads and bridges and the location and characteristics of the vegetation. Except for aerial photographs and satellite imagery, the collection, evaluation, and updating of the required data with other data collection methods is a time-consuming process and more costly. Data from aerial photographs and satellite images have long been detected manually by conventional methods and by operators. The automatically of these detections increases the speed of the project process and contributes to the reduction of the expenses spent. The projects carried out within the scope of the extraction and classification of objects are mostly conc...
The creation and drawing of a three-dimensional (3D) model of historical and cultural buildings have become an important issue. Especially in terms of protecting these historical buildings and transferring future generations, their importance is gradually increasing. Close-range photogrammetry is a method used for many years. With the development of computer and information technology, the classical close-range photogrammetry method has been replaced by the digital close-range photogrammetry method. Digital photogrammetry methods are easier to perform with a computer than conventional methods. By close-range photogrammetry method; it can offer many products such as orthophoto, 3D model, drawing, digital surface, and terrain. In this study, photogrammetric research was carried out for docum...
Cultural heritage and historical monuments are the memories of societies and enable future generations to learn about the past. However, historical monuments from the past to the present have been subjected to many destructions, natural or unnatural. Thanks to advances in technology, it is easier to document historical monuments using digital photogrammetric methods. Today, we see the methods used in documenting historical artifacts as traditional measurement, laser scanning, and photogrammetric methods or combinations of them. In this study, historical artifacts were tried to be documented through close-up photogrammetry methods, which is a sub-working area of photogrammetry, through images taken with non-metric cameras of smartphones that we use frequently in our daily lives. Planned geo...
