Competencies of Music Teacher Candidates Taking Pedagogical Formation Training

The study was designed by using both quantitative and qualitative study methods. This study has employed “criterion sampling method”, one of the purposive sampling methods. The participants in the study consisted of 21 teacher candidates taking pedagogical formation training at Education Faculty at a university located in Mediterranean region of Turkey during spring semester of 2015 2016 academic year. The study group consisted of 52 children, 60-72 months old, attending a kindergarten in the city center of Mersin in 2016. Bu araştırmada sınıf öğretmenlerinin müzik öğretimine yönelik pedagojik bilgi ve becerilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Mersin ilinin farklı ilçeleri ve okullarında görevli sınıf öğretmenlerinin katılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Wong, Chong, Choy ve Lim (2012) tarafından geliştirilen, Gökçek ve Yılmaz (2019) tarafından revize edilerek Türkçe’ye uyarlanmış olan “Pedagojik bilgi ve beceri ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Ölçme aracına ait Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı ölçeğin tümünde 0.94, alt boyutlarında ise 0.70 ile 0.88 arasında değerlerdedir. Bu araştırma, müzik eğitimi alan ve almayan lise öğrencilerinin sosyal uyum düzeylerinin incelenerek, müzik eğitiminin ergenlik dönemindeki öğrencilerin sosyal uyum düzeylerine katkısının olup olmadığını tespit etmek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Bu araştırmada okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının müzik etkinliklerine yönelik özyeterlik algılarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya 2015-2016 eğitim yılı bahar yarıyılında Akdeniz bölgesinde bulunan bir Üniversitenin Eğitim Fakültesi Okul öncesi eğitimi Anabilim dalı 3 ve 4. sınıfında öğrenim gören öğretmen adayları katılmışlardır.
