Renewable
energy is especially crucial as it reduces
environmental degradation and ensures security
of energy supply. In this study, the importance of
whether renewable energy is obtained from a
single renewable energy source or from multiple
renewable energy sources in terms of economy
is analysed. In this context, the impact of
renewable energy diversity on employment is
investigated for BRIC-T countries. A new index
is computed using the method of Gozgor and
Paramati (2022) to represent renewable energy
diversity. In the study, the 2000-2021 period was
analysed using the AMG ( Augmented Mean
Group) method and it was found that renewable
energy diversity has a positive impact on
employment. This result implies that renewable
energy diversity boosts employment. In this
case, in BRIC-T countries, the authorities'
encouragement of different renewable energy
sources rather than depending on a single
renewable energy source may have an
employment-enhancing effect. In the study, the
effect of fossil energy diversity on employment
was similarly investigated and a positive impact
was detected. In sum, an increase in employment
can be observed when the authorities implement
policies that encourage the diversification of
renewable and non-renewable energy sources
instead of being only dependent on oil.
