Functions of Social work on integration of the indigenous population into society

FAHRİ ÖZSUNGUR

The indigenous peoples make a lasting impact on the society and people through their activities such as protection of the ecosystem, agriculture, and the maintenance of ethnic origin; these people are faced with many risks regarding health, sanitation, water, climate change, and pandemic. The protection of this population from such risks through social work and their integration into society is a social problem. The chapter aims to determine the integration of the indigenous population into society and the functions of social work in this regard. Use of mineral trioxide aggregate in the treatment of invasive cervical resorption: a case report

ESRA CENGİZ YANARDAĞ

Introduction: Guided tissue regeneration (GTR) is a successful treatment procedure of periodontal reconstructive surgery. Adverse effects can be observed after GTR procedure, but external root resorption is rarely reported at clinical studies. Invasive cervical resorption is a clinical term used to describe a relatively uncommon, insidious, and often aggressive form of external root resorption. Methods: The present case demonstrates an invasive cervical resorption that is a potential late complication of GTR in a maxillary canine of a 59-year-old male patient. After the surgical intervention a ...Daha fazlası

Distinct patterns of sedimentary phosphorus fractionation and mobilization in the seafloor of the Black Sea, Marmara Sea and Mediterranean Sea

İsmail Akçay

Phosphorus (P) is a key element to all life that is used for structural and functional component of all organisms. The cycling of sedimentary P may differ depending on the redox-conditions of the overlying waters affecting the dynamics, and distribution of P-fractions and the elements that are highly coupled to P cycle. Though biogeochemistry of water column in the three interconnected marine basins of Black, Marmara and Mediterranean Seas have been studied extensively, few studies were carried out to understand sedimentary P dynamics in these regions. In this study, therefore, the biogeochemi ...Daha fazlası

The effects of fish oil replacement by vegetable oils on growth performance and fatty acid profile of rainbow trout: Re-feeding with fish oil finishing diet improved the fatty acid composition

ENGİN KENAN

The present study aimed to demonstrate the effects of feeding vegetable oil (VO)-based diets and their blends on growth, feed utilization and fatty acid (FA) profile in rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss. Juveniles were fed five experimental diets in which dietary fish oil (FO diet containing anchovy oil) was totally or partially replaced by cottonseed oil (CSO), canola oil (CO), MIX1 (50% FO, 25% CSO and 25% CO) and MIX2 (50% CSO and 50% CO) in a grow-out period for 12 weeks. Afterwards, all fish were switched to a diet containing 100% FO diet for a further 12 weeks to determine the progressi ...Daha fazlası

Heavy metal levels in economically important fish species sold by fishermen in Karatas (Adana / TURKEY)

FAHRİ KARAYAKAR | UMUT IŞIK | BEDİİ CİCİK

In this study, heavy metal (Cu, Zn, Cr, Cd, Pb and As) levels in the muscle of economically important fish species (Trachurus mediterraneus, Sparus aurata and Pegusa lascaris) living in different water columns in the North-East Mediterranean Sea were measured. Fish were bought from local fishermen between September 2016-August 2017 in Karatas¸ region (Adana, Turkey). Levels of Cd, Cr, Pb and As were highest in the muscle of T. mediterraneus, S. aurata and P. lascaris in the autumn season, while Cu levels were highest in T. mediterraneus and S. aurata in the spring season. The lowest and highes ...Daha fazlası

Liver tissue trace element levels in HepB patients and the relationship of these elements with histological injury in the liver and with clinical parameters

FAHRİ KARAYAKAR | TAHSİN ÇOLAK

Aim: In this study, the relationship of liver tissue trace element concentrations with hepatitis B disease and the effects of several environmental factors were analysed. Method: The liver tissue concentrations of Al, Fe, Cd, Mn, Cr, Cu, Pb, Ni, Zn, Ag, and Co were evaluated in 92 patients with hepatitis B using the Inductively Coupled Plasma − Mass Spectrometry (ICP/MS) method in the analyses. The patients were divided into the following two groups: low-high Ishak histologic activity index (HAI) (0–6: Low Histologic Activity, 7–18: High Histologic Activity) and low-high fibrosis (FS) (Fibro ...Daha fazlası
