Adrassos, Mersin İli Mut ilçesi sınırları içinde, Tekeli Kasabası’nın 8 km. kuzeybatısında, Yalnızcabağ Köyü’ndeki Adras Dağı’nın yakınlarında, bugün Balabolu1 olarak adlandırılan mevkideki antik yerleşim ve nekropoldür2. Antik kaynaklarda Adrassos olarak geçen kent3, Laranda Karaman ’dan Germanikopolis’e Ermenek ve Kelenderis’e Aydıncık giden önemli bir rota üzerindedir.
A Sarcophagus with Busts from the Hinterland of Tarsus

The sarcophagus considered in this article is located about 30 kms north of the Tarsus city center in Sakızçukuru which is at the district of Sıraköy where an ancient settlement has been discovered. There are many houses, workshops and olive - wine production equipments in this settlement. The necropolis is located to the north of the settlement where numerous sarcophagai were found. One of them has a special importance in terms of having busts with a stele on it. The subject of this study is this sarcophagus which has not been discussed in any study yet. Here the description, the typological and iconographical comparisons as well as workshop suggestions will be undertaken. Ein Amazonensarkophag aus Kilikien

Bu makalede, Adana Müzesi tarafından alınan, Kilikia'dan bir lahit parçası tanıtılmaktadır. Lahit üzerinde, eliyle bir Amazon'un saçını kavrayan bir Yunan ile birlikte tasvir edildiği bir Amazon Savaşı sahnesi betimlenmiştir. İkonografik karşılaştırmalar parçanın geç Antonin-Severuslar dönemine tarihlenebileceğini göstermektedir. Detaylı işçiliği olan bu lahidin sahibi, üst sınıfa mensup olmalıydı.
