Altay Türklerinin Güncel Sorunları Üzerine Bazı Gözlem ve Tespitler

ELCAN, Abdullah

Özet: Altay Türkleri Güney Sibirya bölgesinde Altay dağları eteklerinde yaşayan dilleri ve kültürleri yok olma tehlikesi altında bulunan bir Türk topluluğudur. Nitekim Unesco’nun “Kırmızı Kitabı”nda (Unesco Red Book on Endangered Languages) “Tehlikedeki Diller” listesinde Altay Türkçesi ve ağızlarının tamamı yer almaktadır.

Lepidoptera fauna in aegean region of Turkey+ Yusuf Hüseyinoğlu

Hüseyinoğlu, Yusuf

In this study, the fauna of Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea (Lepidoptera) in Aegean region (Southwest Turkey) has been investigated. Information regarding field studies which were carried out during years 2003 and 2004 was given. The specimens of the order Lepidoptera have been collected from 35 different localities. It has been determined that these specimens are belonging to 87 species distributed in 7 families. The distribution of species (according to families) were given as: Papilionidae (3); Pieridae (12); Libytheidae (1); Argynnidae (11); Satyridae (18); Lycaenidae (25) and Hesperiidae (8).

The Impact of Overconfidence on Capital Structure in Turkey

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the overconfidence and capital structure in Turkish manufacturing firms. In addition to management confidence, the impact of the fundamental factors on the market leverage is analyzed. The annual data of 115 manufacturing firms on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) for the period between 2002 and 2011 is used for the analysis by means of the ordinary least squares regression model. The results show that the relationship between confidence and leverage is ambiguous. There isn’t enough evidence for the idea of overconfident managers tends to use more debt level. However, this study provides some evidence for firm specific factors like size and profitability effects on leverage.

The effect of home-bleaching application on the color and translucency of five resin composites

Cengiz Yanardag, Esra

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of home bleaching agents on the color and translucency of resin composites. Methods: Thirty disc shaped specimens (1mm thick) were fabricated from each resin composite (Reflexions, Grandio, Gradia Direct, Clearfil Majesty Esthetic, Ceram-X Mono) and divided into 3 subgroups as carbamide peroxide (CP, Opalescence 10% PF), hydrogen peroxide (HP, 10% Opalescence Treswhite Supreme) and control group (n=10). Baseline CIE L*a*b* color coordinates were measured with spectrophotometer and translucency parameters (TP) were calculated. CP and HP groups were treated with bleaching agents according to manufacturers' instructions and control group was stored in distilled water (DW) for 14 days. Color and translucency measurements were...

Subcritical and supercritical fluid extraction of heavy metals from sand and sewage sludge

ERDAL YABALAK, AHMET MURAT GIZIR

Demetalization of Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu and Cr heavy metal ions from sea sand and real samples of sewage sludge by subcritical water and supercritical carbon dioxide was investigated. Experimental parameters such as temperature, pressure, extraction time in the static and dynamic mode and sampling were optimized in order to determine the suitable conditions for high removal of metals. The best extraction efficiencies were obtained using acetyl acetonate as a chelating agent in both subcritical water and supercritical CO2 extractions for real and artificial samples. Samples collected from extraction system using both subcritical water and supercritical carbon dioxide were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The highest recoveries obtained from real samples for Cr, Cu...

The Influence of Diesel Fuel-biodiesel-ethanol-butanol Blends on the Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine

Resitoglu, Ibrahim Aslan | Sugözü, İlker

In this study, performance and exhaust emissions of a diesel engine fueled with Fuel A (60% diesel-30% biodiesel-5% ethanol-5% butanol) and Fuel B (40% diesel-50% biodiesel-5% ethanol-5% butanol) were investigated. The biodiesel produced from trap grease was obtained with an oil separator. Fuel A and Fuel B were tested in a single cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine at full load conditions. Compared with diesel fuel, the performance characteristics of blend fuels slightly deteriorated while the emission characteristics improved significantly. CO and HC emissions decreased by 87.01 and 87.50%, respectively.

Effects of different doses of trehalose supplementation in egg -yolk extender in frozen–thawed Angora buck semen

Tuncer, , Pürhan Barbaros | Büyükleblebici, Serhat

Fewstudies havebeendoneontheeffectsoftrehalose supplementation in the cryopreser vation of Angora buck semen. The objective of present study was to investigate the effects of the addition of trehalose at different doses in semen extenders, on invitro semen quality parameters, anti-oxidant enzymes activities and DNA damage after the freeze–thaw process in Angora buck semen. Semen samples from 5 mature Angora bucks (3 and 4 years of age) were used in thi sstudy. The bucks ,belonging to the Livestock Central Research Institute were maintained under uniform breeding condition. A total number of 40 ejaculates were collected twice a week from the bucks using an artificial vagina, during the breeding season and the semen pooled to minimize individual variation. Each pooled ejaculate was split in...
