Antioxidant supplementation ameliorates bull sperm parameters and fertilizing ability following the freeze-thaw process

This study’s goal was to reveal the effects of antioxidant supplementation on motility, motion characters, morphology, DNA integrity, and fertilizing potential of cryopreserved bovine sperm. The ejaculates were collected from three Holstein bulls. At least ten ejaculates were collected per bull. The ejaculates were immediately separated into five aliquots, diluted in the Cryobos (Magapor Co. Ltd., Zaragoza, Spain) commercial extender, including 2.5 mM taurine, 2.5 mM cysteine, 2.5 mM methionine, 2.5 mM glutamine, and no additives were used. The Comparison of Three Different Cryoprotectants in Cryopreservation of Angora Goat Semen

The objective of this study was to evaluate glycerol (G), ethylene glycol (EG) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) which were used two different doses on in vitro semen parameters, antioxidant enzymes activities and DNA damage after the freeze-thaw process in Angora goat semen. Semen samples from 5 mature Angora goats were used in this study. A total number of 40 ejaculates were collected twice a week from the goats using an artificial vagina and the semen pooled to minimize individual variation. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of antioxidants such as reduced glutathione (GSH) and cysteine in Laiciphose extender on semen parameters, fertilizing ability, lipid peroxidation (LPO) level and glutathione peroxidise (GPx) activity of post-thawed bull semen. Totally 54 ejaculates of three bulls were used in the study. Five groups, namely; GSH (0.5 and 2 mM), cysteine (5 and 10 mM) and control group, were conducted to test the antioxidants in Laiciphose . Antioxidative effects of cysteamine, hyaluronan and fetuin on post-thaw semen quality, DNA integrity and oxidative stress parameters in the Brown Swiss bull

The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of antioxidants including cysteamine (2.5, 7.5 mM), hyaluronan (0.25, 1 mg ml 1) and fetuin (5,10 mg ml 1) in the freezing of Brown Swiss bull semen. The best percentagesof CASA motilities were achieved with 10 mg ml 1 of fetuin and 2.5 mM of cysteamine. For sperm morphology, 10 mg ml 1 of fetuin and 2.5 mM of cysteamine had better protective effects (P < 0.001). The results of hypo-osmotic swelling test showed that the percentage values of membrane integrity in all the groups, excluding that supplemented with 5 mg ml 1 of fetuin, were higher than those of the control group (P < 0.001). This study evaluated the protective effects of supplementation with three different sugars on the motility, morphology and DNA integrity of rat epididymal sperm chilled and stored at 4 C Epididymides were obtained from each donor. Rat epididymal sperm was diluted in Ham’s F10 plus raffinose, Ham’s F10 plus trehalose, Ham’s F10 plus fructose, and Ham’s F10 medium for control purposes.
