The purpose of this study is to determine the healthy lifestyle behaviors and mental states of Syrian refugee women with low socio-economic status living outside the camps. Method: The universe of the descriptive study consisted of 120 Syrian refugee women enrolled in the Turkish language course at the Karacaoğlan Public Education Center in the Akdeniz district of Mersin in the spring semester of 2015-2016. This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the correlation between the coping styles and depression, anxiety, and stress levels of individuals living in Turkey during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was conducted using an online questionnaire (Socio-demographic Form; Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21; Coping Styles Scale) and it included 483 individuals. Amaç: Bu çalışma sağlık alanında öğrenim gören üniversite öğrencilerinin ruhsal hastalığa yönelik inançlarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmış kesitsel bir araştırmadır. Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde bulunan bir özel üniversitede 2016- 2017 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde sağlık alanında lisans eğitimi gören toplam 4191 öğrenci, örneklemini ise iç-içe tabakalı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden toplam 560 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Faculty members' views of individuals with different sexual orientations

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine faculty members' views of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and intersex individuals. Design and Methods: The study sample consists of 180 faculty members who agreed to participate in the study. Findings: The faculty members had positive attitudes towards homosexuals but were highly homophobic; furthermore, their responses to questions about their close social circle were severely homophobic. Practice Implications: It is recommended that psychiatric nurses play an active role in eliminating faculty members' lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and intersex‐ related knowledge deficiency.

Nursing students' attitudes to suicide and suicidal persons: A cross‐national and cultural comparison between Turkey and the United Kingdom

Introduction: Suicide is a major public health issue internationally, and the impact of positive or negative attitudes amongst the mental health professional workforce warrants scrutiny. The study aimed to examine English and Turkish nursing students’ attitudes towards people with suicidal behaviour. Method: This cross-cultural study reports on attitudes of 240 nursing students towards suicide in Turkey and 82 nursing students in the UK.
